Sony HTCT260H Sound Bar Review – Wireless Music Streaming
If you’re tired of your TVs sound quality and want a sound system without the clutter of wires, the Sony HTCT260H is ideal for you. This sleek, sexy 2.1 channel sound bar has optical HDMI and analog inputs rather than the outmoded co-axial input system. The two speakers provide for crystal clear sound while the subwoofer does an excellent job on bass. It also comes with two handy keyholes that function as wall mount and can be used as support for 40 inch or larger HDTVs. It supports TV, DVD PS3 and several other digital devices. It also has direct Bluetooth connectivity, so you can listen to music files from your PC, Smartphone, Music Player or other Bluetooth enabled devices. The Audio Return Channel system means that you can control the sound level directly from your TV remote. The HDMI cable has to be bought separately while the Digital Audio cable comes with the system.
The Sony HTCT260H lives up to the challenge of delivering maximum sound from a minimalistic structure. It is designed to look lovely in your living room. The 39.9 x 13.1 x 17.9 inches model has a sleek metallic finish and a heptagonal curve with a rectangular front surface. The wireless subwoofer is similarly streamlined, though it is bulkier than other models like the LG NBN36.

The Sony HTCT260H comes with multiple sound effect options in the settings panel. The subwoofer does an excellent job during bass sequences. Following the earlier Sony models, this one also has the surround sound technology, thus giving a wide amplifying range from a flat surface. It also provides a clear, realistic sonic effect, enhanced by the Dolby Digital Sound Processing. It has 3 display modes at the LED panel along with a new night mode for low volumes. The sound is fantastic while playing movies, video games or music. It also has a full range speaker system and excellent audio reception. The system works better by using the HDMI and ARC cables to connect to your playing device rather than directly plugging in the sound cord. The volume levels are optimized for your hearing but there are also options to manually change settings. The maximum level is appreciably high. The various inputs; HDMI, Audio and Analogue means that it supports a variety of devices and a large number of files including WMA and MP3.
The Sony HTCT260H provides much better sound than other sound bars of the same range, like Bose or LG. It gives a crystal clear sound effect with excellent bass and a wide range. It is ideal if you have friends over for a party or if you’re just playing PS3 by yourself.
